Budgets Can Now Increase or Decrease by Percentage 🥳

We’re excited to announce a new feature hot off the presses! You can now create percentage increases and decreases on your budgets in Float, as well as fixed value increases and decreases (eg. + or – $500 a month).

This is something that has been requested quite frequently by our users, and we’re confident that it will make budgeting in Float even easier.

Previously in Float, budgets were only a fixed amount per month. Now, in the budget creation or updating window, you have another option called “Budget Type” with a dropdown:

percentage increase

Under ‘Budget type’ you can select one of the following options:

  • Fixed value
  • Increasing value
  • Decreasing value

Selecting either Increasing value or Decreasing value will bring up a further option to enter a budget value and also to choose whether to increase/decrease by a set amount or percentage.

increasing or decreasing value

Once you’re happy with the options, select save and the budget will be added to the cash flow.

For example:
You can now create a sales budget that increases by 5% each month! Or an expenses budget that decreases by $100 a month.
